Cavell, Mertz & Associates, Inc. maintains in house — and quickly accessible to you — a full array of production and data resources. Our staff uses state-of-the-art, small-computer systems and directly accesses off-site mainframes to prepare financial analyses, budgets, engineering calculations, and presentations. The firm subscribes to the NTIA's Telecommunications Analysis time-sharing service as well as private time-sharing computing services oriented to broadcast and radio communications.

Current copies of databases maintained in house include the FCC's AM, FM and TV databases; NGDC/USGS/DMA domestic terrain data; and U.S. Census data. The company writes much of its own software (database formats and access software are proprietary to Cavell, Mertz & Associates, Inc.) which facilitates custom application of data to unusual projects.

We possess excellent in-house graphics capability, with E- and B-size color printers, plotters, color and black-and-white copiers, MapInfo and other mapping software, publication software, VidCad facility design and planning software, Autocad, and other graphics packages. CM&A subscribes to government regulatory records, daily document releases, two independent private rules update services, NFPA publications, and professional and trade publications.

CM&A's principals and the firm hold a substantial library of textbooks, professional papers, and documents related to management, strategic planning, spectrum management, electrical engineering, communications, electronics, antenna theory, propagation, and assignment regulation.

The company is where you may frequently need to be, in the Washington, DC suburb of Manassas, Virginia (less than an hour drive from most federal government offices). This proximity allows us better coordination with Washington based regulatory attorneys as well as the staff of a variety of government agencies. Further, three major airports serve this area, facilitating rapid access to worldwide travel and document and package-delivery services.
